- The Royal Shakespeare
Company
Two summers ago my acting troupe visited Stratford-on-Avon for a week.
We toured the Shakespeare houses, workshopped with RSC actors during
the day, and saw Shakespeare shows in the evening. It took considerable
fund-raising to make this trip possible, but well worth it!
- The Shenandoah
Shakespeare Express
I first saw SSE when they did a production of Richard III. Leaving the
lights on, and using minimal sets and props, I was skeptical at first,
but not for long. Their sharp and imaginative touring companies perform
powerful shows. One year, we booked a performance and three workshops
the day before the show. In one custom designed workshop, each of the
SSE took two of my actors for some one-on-one monologue coaching. My
students loved it! Two of my students have also participated in their
summer acting camp for the last two years.

In my conversations with actors, Kristin Linklater emerges as the guru

Her warmth, sense of humor, and teaching skill left us all inspired.
