go home

We were very glad when we found out that Ted would come to us, but we were happier because we would take part in the play A Midsummer Night's Dream by Shakespeare. For most of us it was our debut on the stage and especially in English. At first it seemed that to learn our speeches by heart in English would be difficult because we have read Shakespeare only in Russian. But all proved to be very easy. [Editor’s note, I have to say that this perception is due much more to the hard work of the students and not necessarily the ease of the task! One night at 7:00 after we had been working all day I tried to make Luda go home because she had a cold and she wouldn’t leave!] The main merit in it is through Ted. Thanks to his enthusiasm, openness, friendliness we said the speeches with ease trying to be as close as possible to our heroes. We were ready to spend the whole days with Ted. The communication with him helped us to improve knowledge of English language. He is the ideal teacher for us. His methods of teaching were unusual. They helped us to feel ourselves better on the stage. We have known some subtleties of actor's skill. We were surprised to see how many children who could speak English a little before have started speaking English with ease. It was difficult to believe it. Ted has helped to open a lot of talents both in English and in actor's business. Participation in Shakespeare's play has helped us to plunge into his work to understand his plays better and certainly to improve the knowledge of English. We enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you, Ted, for everything that you have done for us!
